Thrilled to Be Featured in Voyage Miami!
I’m excited to share my feature in Voyage Miami, where I talk about my journey as a writer, screenwriter, and entrepreneur. From my start in journalism to publishing books and creating Rainbow Crystal Cosmetics, this journey has been an incredible adventure.
My Writing Journey
Inspired by my poet grandmother, I earned my BS in Journalism from Florida International University and wrote for FOX WSVN 7 in Miami. My true passion emerged in 2004 when I began writing children’s stories. Since then, I’ve published Murphy: The Phat Cat and the Rainbow Crystal trilogy, a deeply personal series inspired by the loss of my best friend.
I also co-wrote Mano Nera, a screenplay based on my great-grandparents’ true story, which has received over 25 film festival selections and won 10 awards. Exploring both novel writing and screenwriting has allowed me to push creative boundaries.
Overcoming Challenges
Writing requires patience, resilience, and belief in yourself. Rejections and revisions are part of the process, but the love of storytelling makes it all worthwhile. My advice: keep honing your craft, stay persistent, and never give up!
Bringing Stories to Life: Rainbow Crystal Cosmetics
To expand my creativity beyond books, I founded Rainbow Crystal Cosmetics LLC, a whimsical makeup line inspired by the settings and characters of my series. It’s a fun, colorful brand that blends storytelling with beauty, allowing fans to experience my fictional world in a new way.
Supporting Fellow Writers
I also offer writing consulting services to help aspiring authors refine their stories, structure their work, and navigate the publishing process. I love sharing my experience to help others succeed.
Looking Forward
This feature in Voyage Miami is a milestone in my journey. As I finish the final Rainbow Crystal book and develop my cosmetics line, I’m excited for what’s ahead. I hope to inspire others to chase their dreams and embrace creativity.
